These stastistics are pulled straight from the pk3 files. The pie graphs are pretty sell-explanatory. When these files are included in a pk3, it's a higher quality package. Map dates are pulled from the last modified date on the bsp inside the pk3. The data shows us someone introduced thousands of bsps in 2015, when we cross-reference this data with the list, we can see many maps were ported from other games. Gametype distribution is determined by the mapinfo file, which has to explicitly define gametypes. Gametype distritubion is gathered from the mapinfo file. Count per shasum represents duplicate packages that have been renamed.
The Xonotic Map Repository (XMP) is a community project that was created to consolidate map packages and provide them over a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
In addition to providing a CDN, the XMP offers detailed information about map packages that was gathered using a parser that inspects all packages in this collection.
As you can see on the Statistics page, many of these packages can be improved. We hope this is a first step to improving map package quality.
This website is an unofficial repository and is not affiliated with Xonotic.
Credits go out to all mappers, gathers of information and implementers.
